7 inch is too small.....it is barely bigger.....
......than mobile phone. It is marginally bigger than small Vita. 7 inch is less than low tier tablet. For txt heavy games with lots of reading like presented in a promo material Disco Elysium, 7 inch is too small. Can they make screen bigger plz. And plz get rid of this awfully thick bezels.

Use external display if you need bigger screen. This thing is supposed to be mobile, it can’t really be any bigger..

I think 7" is just the right size, you need to keep in mind this thing already weighs 669 grams so adding more isn't really possible.

Ehrm.....when you plug it in to 1440p monitor you will barely get 15 fps at high, maybe sub 30 at medium. It has to be 10 inch.....

That would entirely depend on the game, wait for proper benchmarks but I suspect it'll be decent enough at 1440p

I will wait for benchmarks but I dont expect these to be far off from what I am predicting. In my opnion Valve should focus on building ultimate portable console rather than hybrid machine which will never achieve exellence as a portable or a mini PC. Why not to make screen like semi foldable 10 inch screen kr spmething, horizontal.butterfly fold. I would gladly pay even up to £ 1000 for such portable and yet again we will get middle of the road portable which will die just like Vita did.

It's an open platform, so if it goes well expect other companies to join in, there is nothing stopping you using whatever hardware you want so if you have the time and money you could make your own.

You can use that 1440p monitor at 720p as well.

You have to take into account the components inside for the thickness. I think the screen will be fine, and the bigger the screen the more power hungry it would be. Gabe himself wanted to get the price as low as possible as well, saying it was painful, but price was crucial.

Yes , they said that software will be accessible to everyone for free. These are really great news. I cant wait to see similar products from MSI, Asus, LG or any other company wanting market share of portable gaming. More producers would only prolong live of poetables....dam shame about Vita.

7" plus non-detachable controls. I'm already unsure of how I'm going to carry this around if I actually get one.

Why the hell you would even want to connect it to a 1440P monitor anyway LOL

It can be connected to anything with DisplayPort, or HDMI with the dock, this would be useful for people who only have a television, also it can be used as a computer should someone not have one.

Yeah but just don't use a screen that require a 3000$ machine to run it at a decent FPS.

7 inch is way enough if you know how to use it.
