Saying that though, depending on the screens and the games you play, I can totally see the appeal of the anti-glare glass and the larger storage.
It's actually cheaper to buy memory cards, but you lose the SDD and it's annoying to use microSD for everything (it's slower for sure).
I view this purchase as like something I'll have for years and years. Regardless if more AAA comes out with insane reqs, there's still 15k+ games that can be played.
Because apparently all of them have a slot. I just hope the base storage isn't blocking it.
Definitely would be possible to get a 512gb m2 for cheaper ( maybe not as fast though.. I can only find 2x pcie ones ), but find me a 1tb 2230 size m.2. for less than the price difference.
You can find a 1tb microSD for $170-$230. You can get a 1tb 2230 from Amazon... did you not look hard?
The GB price increase is a rip off, but they're most likely losing money on the $399... so they're making a bit back with the 256/512GB. But I mean... I'm going to have this for years and years so I really don't care about a few more bucks tbh. Like if it's such a big deal spend a bit less on food for a bit or don't go out / order food or w/e for a bit to make up the difference. Whenever I deal with PCs my rule is always go bigger so as to not regret it later. The hassle of ordering another one isn't worth it, ♥♥♥♥ it -- just going big.
On the flip side, you can get a 128GB M.2 2230 ssd for about $15-$20, so that might be an excellent way to double the capacity of the cheap Deck while also getting a faster drive.
Edit: I've found 1TB 2230 drives in the $330 ballpark, so nevermind about those being capped at 512GB. I'll probably have to upgrade at some point down the line.
Yes Micro SD card is a choice but all of those are slower then a typical 2.5 inch laptop hdd
Going with your own external ssd of some sort makes sense as this might help you out with your Desktop or Laptop since you could use it on those systems also, not to mention on your Phone.
