Hi genuine goofball! Quoting out of context is fun.
I use mine to host torrents (like legal Linux ISOs) and as a media center PC, as well as for light browsing.
Like I said before, flat packs are the game changer.
The Steam Deck is treated as an immutable system, so it can revert local changes when you update. However, flat packs are an isolated install that does not alter the core OS, so your flatpacks should remain even after an update. Things like a your desktop background should remain consistent as well.
No idea what you are talking about.
Just install everything over flatpacks and you are good to go.
Its win-win, as they say.
Fair enough, but it should be implied that you want to game on it, if you have one. You didn't go to best buy and randomly got it. And replacing the OS renders the point of the steam deck moot, due to hassle. Not that putting proper linux on it would be as bad as Windows on it, but it's still pretty bad in long term use, for the main purpose.
I wanted to use mine offline, and it won’t let me play any games unless I update first. = Epic Fail !
I am the OP. And I wasn't complaining about terminal. Terminal works just fine. It was a warning to others to not fall for the zealots overselling the steam deck as an all in one Linux PC.
