Free Valve Games
I just started playing aperture desk job and it is honestly one of the best games I have ever played so far, so now I'm looking for other valve games to play.

That's the only free one at the moment because it was made to show off the Deck. Other Valve games go on sale a lot.

They have been free in the past but usually for specific events.

Here is a list of Valve games.

Portal 2 is my favorite Valve game and goes on sale regularly. There is a free mod for it which is essentially a separate game, but requires Portal 2 base game to play.

Many valve games end up on steam sales. I end up buying the game in bulk and playing them like 5 years later. I am not joking about the 5 years. I am a bit lazying playing my small collection.

Yeah Aperture Desk Job was amazing. I agree with everything said in this thread, and would add that during the seasonal sales, many of the Valve games are typically priced as low as $1.

That's how I get 'em, anyway! Yeeeeha!

If you wait for one of the main Steam seasonal sales, the 'Valve Complete Pack' normally gets an awesome and simply impossible to ignore discount, then you won't have to choose! :steamhappy:

To answer your question though, Portal 1 & 2 will definitely be right up your street if you enjoyed Aperture Desk Job, particularly as Aperture Desk Job is a spin-off from those titles.
They're both clever puzzle games with a hilarious narrative!

Then, there's the Half-Life series, which is by far my favourite series, which are essentially first-person shooters with legendary environmental storytelling. (There's no cutscenes, so all the events happen with you in full control). They were all groundbreaking when they were released.

All of those, and pretty much most the Valve catalogue are fantastic on Deck (they received updates where needed to make sure they were).

Yep. Valve does a good job maintaining their games. The gameplay still feels great today.

Valve went all in the 25th anniversary of half life.

Except for one moment that happened immediately before the trash compactor setpiece in HL1 (it makes complete sense in the story context, though).

If you want free games, i recommend you check this group. They will list most free offers (ie when valved offered half life, or when there was a free promotion for tomb raider). Its also useful to track which free games are in epic if you also like to collect them.

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/GrabFreeGames

If you buy half life 2 and portal 2 you can also find many free fullgame mods in the store.
