A wonky thing with regards to the Steam Deck. Electronic Arts titles which use the EA App are installed into entirely separate instances of "Windows"/Proton.

This means that the EA App for each game has to be updated individually. On the bright side, Steam's servers are much faster than EA's servers, so the game should potentially be able to download much faster overall.

If you switch to "Desktop Mode" and use a container such as "Bottles" you can probably add the EA App itself as a non-Steam game. It may subsequently be more difficult to manage your Steam library under Linux, however. So if you are going to use the "Bottles" method, it will probably be better to buy Electronic Arts published titles strictly on their store.
