512 v 1TB
Am I missing something here? For less than £100 would get me a extra 512Gb of hard drive space? I don't think I could buy a 3rd party and fit one for that.
It means that going for the 1TB model is the best buy really, unless I am missing something.

It is a $100 difference between the models. That's about on par with the average price of a 1TB nvme. https://sabrent.com/products/sb-1342-1tb

So, you are actually paying double the price for a 512GB nvme to get the 1TB model.

Noooot really, if all that you wanted was the extra space. And if you bought a 1TB drive for the 512 version you would be left with a spare drive which I would have no use for.
What surprised me was usually to get something with more memory you pay way over the cost of that memory, were this deal is quite fair.
It choosing the right one so as not to regret your purchase later. This is not common ground for me and I'm not quite sure what is a good deal for a hand held gaming device.

The difference is how many games you can store at the same time, while able to play one at a time anyway.

For people on the road/bad internet i would totally agree to stuff the deck and take off. The more storage the better.

Anyone else just likes to install multiple 40h+ games /AAA for the sake of it.

I've established the 1TB is my best deal but then I ask myself do I need the 1TB? I don't intend on playing AAA titles on it, only arcade like simple indie games. The AAA titles will be played on my main PC. So I guess the 512Gb model would be enough.
I was just asking in case there were others that had faced the same dilemma when opting to buy a steam deck.

By the most device that doesn't over extend your finances. You'll always want more device "after" you have it. Also helps with resale if you decide you don't like it and want to sell it.

You can always buy an external SSD like the crucial X6 should you ever need more space but don’t want to open the steam deck.

I think this would be the right way to go. Expend it this way but only if needed. Now all I need to decide on is if I want the glossy or the mat screen. There again I can always buy a mat screen protector if I want to.
512Gb version it is then.

Thanks guys.
