Sudden Micro SD card slow transfer and download speed
Hi, I've been using a 512GB Silicon Power U3 A2 Micro SD for the past three months and I hadn't had any problems regarding transfer or download speeds until now. Suddenly, a few days ago I decided to download KOFXV for my Steam Deck but I realized the download was very slow and after it finished, the veritification was even worse taking around 2 hours to verify the installation. I didn't mind, I thought the game was big in size but now I'm trying to download Tekken 8 and it's taking forever. Even 9GB games take around 3 hours to download. My internet speed is 300mbps and is connected via LAN in the dock.

I decided to format the SD card following a popular method online but it didn't help. This started happening recently and no hardware changes have been made. I also have noticed that the SD card is a little hot. Hotter than I've ever seen so I'm not sure if that may affect transfer/download speed. Software-wise I don't remember updating the Steam Deck and no other software has been installed recently except games. Does anyone know what can cause it and a possible fix?

EDIT1: I also notice that the download speed goes to 0MBPs and then recovers. It has a lot of spikes during the download/transfer.

Pause game for a couple of minutes during download and then resume
You can also reboot the Steam Deck
These two are what I do when I have this issue
I use silicon Power 1TB mSD and this happens often

Yea. That would affect performance too. SD card isn't high quality storage these days. The IO speed is quite low. In fact, manufactures stuff SD cards into any storage format they can get away with to save money. There are USB devices that just have a sd cards inside.

I see. I can confirm that pausing the download / transfer and resuming later helps the speed. After the SD gets hot it dips. Do you think it's related to the heat?
