This problem feels odd

04:00.5 Multimedia controller [0480]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] ACP/ACP3X/ACP6x Audio Coprocessor [1022:15e2] (rev 50) Subsystem: Valve Software ACP/ACP3X/ACP6x Audio Coprocessor [1e44:1776] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 66 Memory at 80380000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: snd_pci_acp5x Kernel modules: snd_pci_acp5x, snd_sof_amd_vangogh

OS sees your device but userspace does not. Very odd.

Can you run
alsa-info.sh
script? Can you post the alsa-info here or the Steam OS issue page? Even if it's your system, userspace should always see the audio device.

The script will generate a file in /tmp named `alsa-info.txt.q??????` You can post that file in steam issue page below.

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues

You may need to re install the OS bits. Some setting is messed up in your installation.

Did you to resintall Steam OS from scratch? Did you install the OS from recovery because your sound issue may merit a clean reinstall.

For reference, this is my alsa info. I am running steam os 3.5.13

You will notice acp5x in my alsa info. acp5x is the audio chip.

Did you change anything in the BIOS? Did you touch it?

You can try removing pipewire config if you have it.

~/. config/pipewire
I do not know what settings you touched. I do not know how to allow pipewire se your audio devices.
