AMD has not been doing well with their low level bugs on Linux lately. This SDMA0 bug is pretty awful.
Don't forget to get a keyboard (and maybe a mouse) also ;)
It has both a trackpad and a mouse. While not super necessay (as after like 10 years, Microsoft finally figured out that the OSK should be called every time you tap a text field and you don’t have a hardware keyboard), I do agree that a bluetooth keyboard would go a long way.
The bloat comment is doubly on point too, Lenovo’s Legion Space software still kinda sucks, on top of Win 11 suckage.
I'm sure once the device is popular enough, there will be community developed programs, like the legion toolkit.
In contract, the OLED deck runs into issues with with certain sets of hardware from a few manufacturers. It’s not something that can just happen to everyone.
Until the next Windows Update, where Microsoft install a bunch of crap again ;)
I do not understand why Windows Update is so crappy.
Maybe you just stopped noticing / caring.
Instead of me telling you, let me show you:
- Go to Microsoft and download a Windows 10 ISO.
- Install the Windows in a Virtual Machine (can use VirtualBox to be simpler).
- Fully install the windows, set up user, answer NO to all those 100 questions (as one does).
- You can use a local account, don't need to sync with Microsoft (you can though).
- Once Windows give you the control go to "Setttings" -> "Apps" and uninstall every app that would be bloatware (XBox stuff, Solitary collection, Weather, Paint 3D, etc...)
- Once you are done go to Windows update and update as normal.
Tell us how many apps did come back ;)
It gets worse once you sync with your Microsoft account, as it tries to sync apps as well.
