Screen Protector for etched glass OLED 1 TB
As you can see, I’m thinking of getting a protector for the one TB model OLED. I’ve read that any screen protector will negate the effects of the etched glass as well. I typically don’t scratch devices but you can never be too safe. Is there one out there that doesn’t, or very minimally, effect the etched glass? Or is it even worth it?

Why though? You said it yourself, you don't scratch devices. The included carrying case does a great job @ protecting the Deck before you slide it into your bag full of knives & razors, whereas no screen protector would protect the screen from cracking when dropped screen-first onto stone.

I have applied screen protectors for my handhelds that I felt required it, such as DS with stylus. For steam deck etched screen I never saw the need to have them.

My lcd has survived numerous touchscreen pressing. Now with my oled, I still see zero reason for a screen protector unless you hate the etched effect and want that glossy finish since the 1tb doesn’t have that option.

Because of things like drops or something, I most likely wouldn’t play over a hard floor but who knows 🤷‍♂️

I don't think it's worth it for the matte screen, but if you want:

Sorry it’s a bit delayed, I just opted to not get a protector. Haven’t used it in a situation it would crack if it fell, and even then I usually don’t drop stuff

LOL same here so far! my only fear is my cat scratch it when i'm asleep.. but he is a good guy understanding what he should and should not touch.. so minor paranoia about him as well

on the other hand - i just want to know what would be the result of screening.. just for the sake of knowing as am looking for the answer for so long))

still - tyvm for the answer, friend
