Steam deck still hasn't arrived
Ordered my steamdeck on December 16th. It is now December 22 and it STILL has been on "packaged items" for 4 days straight. Thats 6 days that have passed. I need my steamdeck Monday for Christmas day. I work a 16 hour shift that day and will be bored out of my mind and miserable without it. What's going on? Wasn't it supposed to arrive in 3-5 business days?! My buddy ordered his oled model on December 15th and got his 2 days ago!

It’s 3-5 business days once shipped, processing days don’t count. Even those who ordered on oled release day weekend, some received it next day while others waited a week, some even way longer.

It’s also now entering holiday weekend, if it hasn’t shipped yet I doubt you’ll see it by Monday aka Christmas when couriers are all off duty. Unless some holiday miracle happens and it ships today, and you are near the warehouses in the US… but it’s really cutting it close.

I'm in Oklahoma. My 'buddy' is my co-worker. Why would he get his and I haven't gotten mine?

Added context: I got the 256gb lcd model. His is the 512 oled model. Dunno if that matters (it shouldn't) but there, more context added.

This is the same exact question many customers asked, me included, when lcd invites and oled release days happened. I ordered way before some family and friends (and some even ordered a day after me) yet lucky few received theirs before me, and we all live in the same state and county. It’s called getting randomly processed.

Again, if you haven’t received a shipment email or your status hasn’t changed with a shipping label, then there’s honestly slim chance of it coming before Monday, especially since it’s a holiday weekend.

Maybe you can ask your buddy to lend you their steam deck for the day?

There is no rhyme or reason that we (consumers) have access to for understanding why one person receives their order before another person. When I ordered my OLED, I received mine several days after others their even though I'm only 1 state away from the shipping source.

In the end, you can only control what you can control. At this point, it's not something you can control.

Plot Twist: it now says Shipped (out of nowhere) and has a UPS Tracking number. The tracking number doesn't work though. I tried it on UPS, Fed EX, and USPS just to make sure. Doesn't work anywhere. Hm.

Means label has been created, doesn’t always mean it’s been picked up by courier.

If the tracking# starts with numbers it’s most likely Fedex, who delivers during the weekend even Sundays with ground. If the tracking# starts with 1Z it’s UPS, who might or might not deliver on Saturday.

If you’re not seeing any updates with the tracking#, sign up for the said courier account, it’s free and it’ll give better shipping details.

I still have a feeling it’ll arrive after Monday, but again maybe a holiday miracle can happen for you 🤞🎁

Okay then it is confirmed to be a UPS Tracking number. There's actually a UPS building (a massive one) right outside of our neighborhood...so I'm hoping I'm lucky. Dunno WHY the tracking number doesn't work though!

It’s because it was just created. It will update within 24 hours, Valve notes this in their shipment email.

It could be worse. I ordered on the 10th and it took me 10 days to get any updates on my Steam Deck. I have no idea what happened, but I was really disappointed in Steam Support because they basically told me "just keep waiting" in a copy-and-paste response. Supposedly, it's arriving on the 27th, but I'm leaving on the 27th for a week so I won't even be home when it arrives. If I would've known it'd take 17 days I would've just bought a used one that I knew would get here faster. I really wanted to make sure that it'd arrive before I leave. 17 days for a 64-GB Steam Deck to arrive in California is pretty unacceptable, in my opinion.

That stinks, sorry for the delays! Holidays are by far the worse times to make online orders imho, especially with promised delivery dates when many things from couriers side can affect this.

Mine took more than two weeks to arrive and steam said 3/5 days so.. brace yourself. Also steam support and gls support are god awful, people were waiting for like 10 days with no updates only to find out after multiple investigation requests that their parcel was "lost in transit" aka stolen. I got two decks, i recieved my first in like a week no problem, but for the oled its been a almost 20 days with no updates nightmare. Luckily im having so much fun with the oled that I already forgot about the awful customer experience.

Well, UPS says it'll arrive tomorrow now, so I'm hoping for the best

Did yours arrive? I'm anxious too, only ordered the OLED 512gb on the 3rd, tho and still in packaged items stage. 3-5 days felt way too optimistic.

I ordered mines (512gb OLED) on 1/2/24 and it’s just been stuck in ‘packaged items’??? I messaged steam support yesterday and they responded today with a template response that my item is processing at their warehouse and to allow 4-8 business days for delivery. I’m pretty disappointed with my experience and with steam support… my first steam deck purchase for the same model in November was a great experience this has just been terrible.

I ordered 12/31/23 mine is also still in packaged items on 1/8/24
