Windows latest APU driver broke brightness slider
device: deck LCD dual booting windows 11 23H2 with latest APU driver installed

the latest APU driver broke brightness slider as in the screen brightness does not change accordingly to the slider value (0 does not set to min. brightness and vice versa). Instead some "wiggling" is needed to dim/brighten the screen. For example sliding back and forth in the slider region below 50 can dim the screen.

I've heard the latest Amernime custom driver also has this issue, so maybe it's AMD's problem, but I would truly like Valve to fix it

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. Surprised I'm not seeing more posts about it. I guess most people don't bother updating their drivers after the initial install. Although I'm certainly regretting updating right now so maybe they're onto something.

Same issue here as well, even after installing latest windows updates and reinstalling APU driver.

Valve doesn't own the code base. How can Valve fix it? Steam deck uses a custom APU from Magic Leap 2 silicon

ID and other buses are custom and require constant maintenance on all platforms including Linux.

I had the same problem, the brightness adjustment in Windows became very weird, so I had to downgrade the APU driver, apparently the Windows platform is not a priority for Valve
