Does anyone know what happens? Steam Deck OLED
Hello, what happened is that I played normally and I turned it off normally and then when I turned it back on it didn't give me a screen and the power button just started flashing and the fan turned on for about 5 seconds and it turned off again and that continued. process successively as shown in the video I made, it has not been dropped or anything like that that affects anything.

The solution by steam support:

Ensure the device is fully powered down. Once the device is fully powered down plug in the included power supply.

Hold down the "volume +" and the "..." buttons for 10 seconds

While still holding down the "volume +" and "..." buttons, unplug the power supply from the Steam Deck
After a few seconds, you should see the LED flash blue a few times, this indicates that the Steam Deck successfully went to battery shipping mode. Wait a few moments until the LED stops flashing blue.

Hold down the power button until the power LED flashes white. The unit should now boot.

So did the storage mode work?

No bro, the only solution that works for me it’s that one

Battery shipping mode IS storage mode, it's the same thing. You just went into it in a different way, the steps given to you by tech support is for those who can't go into it the normal way.

So did it fix your problem?

Could you please mark what fixed it as the answer for your problem?
Not that anyone uses the search function, but....

Good to hear, I don't know why battery storage mode works... But it often fixes random issues. Never hurts to try.

Problems even rebooting can't fix often goes away with battery storage mode. I think it some how either deletes a cache, or totally disconnects all power to the system or something that may be storing corrupt data. When Steam support originally recommended it I was sceptical, but it just works.

while this was without a doubt hillarious:

find the right answer
click the dropdown menu in it
"mark this as answer to my question" or however they phrase it

would have been a better way.

Oh you beautiful souls, thank you. I was pissing myself in fear that my deck died

Shipping Mode or Storage Mode or Battery Save Mode, they ALL low-level reset the APU back to Valve's OOTB values. How they became corrupted is another topic, but it's nice to know the APU reset is there.

I'm really curious whether anyone has identified what triggered the corruption; we just ran into the same issue
