Steam Deck
How to go back 3.4
I hate what they did to my Steam Deck after the 3.5 update. Is there any way that I can go back to the old OS before 3.5? 3.5.7 stutters the sound, my steam deck now experiencing fps dropping to 1 then 0 and can't recover anymore unless I hard press the Power button, PS5 controller not working properly anymore when I played Last of us again and it asks me to shake the controller to recover the flash light battery... on 3.4 it worked with no issue, now on 3.5 it won't detect and the controller constantly saying the DS5 controller won't have full experience if steam input is on, but when I off the steam input the controller won't work at all. I don't know what to do with this 3.5 OS. I tried rolling back but I'm already in 3.5.7 it will only roll back to 3.5.5. I hate this update.

Stuff on Windows 10 was running really well for me from SD as well as emulated systems in Batocera on SD. 3.5.5 and 3.5.7 appear to have completely changed how well they run.

I had wondered if this was related to the BIOS update to F7A0119 as well as the OS update to 3.5.7.

I tried loading some older OS Downloads earlier this week, but the upgrade process kicked in and changed the OS to the latest version.

I'm just wondering if putting in the original drive may allow the OS to stay on the installed version (without an update being forced) but also concerned that I could end up with a BIOS/OS mismatch, as the BIOS is now on F7A0119.

I guess the only way to see would be to give it a go?

Cheers, Lee
If you have messed with beta and main channel previously, you could have BIOS updated to the one in those channels, but it stays there even if you switch back to the stable channel, unless you flash the old stable version yourself, as such newer version BIOS should not cause problem itself (it "might" break dual boot though, some people report update of Steam OS broke dual boot setup, not sure is it BIOS related), no risk for new BIOS on earlier Steam OS AFAIK, but I can't suffer the consequence should anything goes wrong though.

As a side note, you could downgrade your BIOS in desktop mode thru Konsole command, details refer to below,

https://www.stanto.com/games/unlocking-the-steam-deck-bios-for-under-voltage-and-over-clocking/

Go for the "How Can I Revert or Update my BIOS Manually?" section.

Tried to message support last week and they just replied now. True, they won't give you an image copy of their 3.4.11, and their only reply is "Thanks for writing in. We're currently collecting bug reports as we resolve any outstanding issues with the Steam Deck. We currently don't have a fix for you."

Disappointing as I'm hearing good reviews about Valve having the best support but they won't give you temporary aid by providing you an image copy of their 3.4.11 OS so you can re-image your Steam Deck.

Just like any other company, all they want is for us to endure all this mess so they can collect data. What's the use of sticking to the stable version when we are becoming beta testers on a stable OS?
