Steam Deck Oled speaker's quality (Solved almost)

Hi!

Anybody upgrading from the led to the oled has noticed the decrease in audio quality of the oled's speakers (compared to the led's ones)? Less volume, less soundstage, muted treble. Loved how good the old model sounded. The new deck oled is better almost in any way but it's a pity the audio quality is downgraded this much!

Putting both decks side by side at the same volume level, the deck oled is almost silent. There's any way to check speaker's manufacturer or propierties without opening the consoles? Just to compare?

Audio on Linux has man layers.

You can dump everything at once.

Run

sudo alsa-info.sh

Compare the two files.

yeah, this was the first thing I noticed and was so disappointed with. :(

Honestly the audio quality is quite good considering its size. (LE OLED)

My LE oled speakers are loud, almost too loud at times that I play at 40%-50% volume, it’s more bassy yet crisp and clear vs my lcd. With my lcd I often wore wired earbuds due to how poor the speakers were.

My spouse’s LE oled is extremely low when we compared it to my LE oled and both our lcd, his oled also has random crackling. One of the many unit issues he has with it, he’s opted for a full refund vs an exchange.

Same here, the difference between my LCD and my OLED is quite noticeable on the same volume setting. I'm hoping it's just something they can deal with in an update.

Sounds like an issue with some devices. If the audio sounds worse than your LCD variant then you should open an RMA request because the speakers should be better in every single way on the OLED model.
