That being said, there are reasons these companies want their own launchers. It's not that this is the only way they can deliver games, this is purposely chosen by these publishers so it's unlikely to change anytime soon.
I would appreciate having the option to link my EA or Ubisoft accounts directly within the Steam launcher on a per-account basis. This integration could be included in the Steam settings, allowing for seamless access to linked accounts when opening a game. This would eliminate the need for repetitive re-logins and 2FA code requests. Additionally, this feature would be beneficial in offline mode, as the linked accounts would already be associated with the Steam launcher. It could check for linked accounts even when offline, unless you sign out of your Steam account.
The thing is what you're asking for is never going to happen. They only have their own platforms because they want you to use them instead of Steam, they want to make the Steam experience as bad as possible while still getting our money to incentivize direct purchases.
That's sad to hear. We'll never experience a smooth experience like in consoles.
