Audio very quiet - Steam Deck OLED
My volume is very low. I think it has been like it since I have had the OLED.
When the volume is below 30%, the sound is inaudible.
I have tried various things suggest on Reddit within desktop mode. But nothing seems to fix it?
Has anyone else had this issue, and know how to fix it.
I did swop out the SSD as soon as I had it. But can't see how that would have anything to do with it?

Thanks,
Dan

I had this issue on the preview version of SteamOS recently. Very low volume, had to max out the volume just to hear things clearly.
Are you perhaps on Preview or Beta? Try going back to stock.

I have tried Stable and Preview.

Have you tried Decky Loader? They have a nifty tool to boost volume up to 150%. As I'm a bit hearing impaired, this is a genius hack for me.

Sounds good. I may have to try that. But it doesn’t hide the fact that something could be wrong. Thanks for the link though. Could be what saves me from going mad 😀

If a link saves you from madness?...Welp...I'm having a better day than you are. Hope it helps. I've only got to deal with Amazon shipping me the wrong computer. :steamsad:
Same problem here 🙁

Swap in your old SSD. Check the volume. If it worked, then your install kinda failed. Remember to report the bug to valve. Some alsa settings messed up.

I have the same exact problem. Did you find a solution?

I am also having the same exact issue. I'm in contact with Steam support, but they've yet to accurate fix my problem with their troubleshooting steps. I'm at a bit of a loss as to the proper solution at the moment.

My oled LE below 10% the volume is super faint almost as if it’s 1%-0%. My OG lcd is low and I used BT and wired headphones for it often.

Playing games locally at 30% volume, I experience the opposite and the volume is actually quite loud. When I play remote play, the volume gets even louder! It ends up being much too loud, and when in voice chat with a steam friend they say they can hear my game blasting 🫨

It almost seems as if there is no gradual volume reduction once it’s near 10%. I haven’t even tried 100% volume because the sound ends up being distorted.

found a solution (for me)

go to settings-> audio -> output device

set Output device to 'Speakers' - bring volume to zero

now set to 'default speakers' - raise to max

set back to 'Speakers' - raise to level you want

this lets me get max volume! sometimes doesn't stick on a reset though

Happy with max volume loudness, but anything up to 30-40% seems very quiet still.
