I've had this thing for less than a year and I shelled extra for the 512gb model because I wanted to buy myself something nice compared to the usual barebones model of anything I get for myself and now I find that there's a new OLED model coming out with bigger storage space and a nicer screen. NGL kind of a bit mad about it and at the very least I'd like to trade mine in and upgrade but the lack of a program just feels like a bit of a slap in the face.

if you bought it recently, and you havent damaged, you can also try to resell it online to any of the countries where valve wont send them officially, and even ask for a bit more without overpricing it like typical scalpers. if your price is good and better than "scalper price", even if a bit more expensive than what you originally payed you are likely going to sell it in relatively short time, and have money to buy the oled one.

Already replied that in another thread, but I will repeat it again. If there is any "trade-in program", Valve have to be able to make a profit for selling it as refurbished units afterwards, in addition to the trade-in value given to you, cost to inspect, testing, and warranty coverage associated. The chance is, you are unlikely to get more value from a trade-in program than selling it yourself, if not less.

I wish you would have take the time you invested in this post to inform yourself about the OLED.

Your steam deck is still a very reliable machine and that doesnt vanish with every new product Valve is creating.
