Battle.net - what Proton version should I use?
It's no longer launching with Proton Experimental. I've tried a handful of others from 7-2 to 8-6 and nothing is working...

in the past I could launch it no problem from any of them :\

My experience with battle.net is that any time you change proton versions it breaks it, requiring a full uninstall/reinstall. Proton experimental changes often so I'd recommend not using that.

Do an uninstall/full reinstall, choose a proton version, and stick with it. I don't recall what I used.

Admittedly, the last time I used battle.net was to level during the dragonflight launch a year ago. Now that D4 and OW2 are on Steam, that landscape may have change significantly, so take my advice here with a bucketful of salt.

Turn off hardware acceleration in the settings when battle.net program is launched using proton. Reinstall the "app" or program from proton... "installbattlenet.exe" from proton, then go find the battle.net.exe in steam eco system...

Or just use the wine flatpak and launch battle.net.exe from there until you have finished updated the game(s) then maybe switch back to proton get steam to run the "Overwatch.exe" or the "Wow.exe" from within the steam eco system with proton.
