Bluetooth Touchpad Not Working When Typing
The title is pretty explanatory, but I'll go into more detail. I have a touchpad and keyboard connected wirelessly to my Steam Deck while in desktop mode. When I am touching a key, the cursor disappears any you cannot move the mouse while pressing any key. This is rather frustrating as it seems to affect all applications, it's specifically annoying when playing an FPS game (or any game for that matter) as I have to stop moving to look around using the touchpad. If anyone has any help, I'm all ears!

I have looked online only to find outdated Linux guides to the same problem.

May I ask about the DE and distro?

I'm new to steamOS, what are you asking?

Becomes disappearing cursors can be the obvious wayland bug. Since you are using Steam OS, you are not affected by the wayland bug.

I guess post your hardware. What touchpad are you using etc?

We can always open some debugging tools to see if your device is registered.

I have a Decktop, which is a Bluetooth keyboard with trackpad/touchpad built in to it.

Hardware? What is your wireless keyboard and touchpad combo?

see above, also, I tried using a Logitech G305 connected to the deck and it works fine, so it is a touchpad issue.

In the KDE desktop environment, you can visit “System Settings -> Touchpad settings -> Enable/Disable Touchpad -> Disable touchpad when typing”.

I am thinking there might be a disable touchpad while typing feature enabled.

I looked into that, but the "disable touchpad when typing" option is unselected and greyed out so that I may no select it.

I know that it is probably something really simple that I'm just missing, it's very frustrating!

Not really. I am trying to figure out what environment you in from the description

How are you running your game? What is all applications?

No matter where I am typing, the cursor disappears. Let it be a game on steam, I can't look around while using WASD, or looking something up on chrome the cursor disappears when I enter the text box

I give up.

My bad. I could not figure out if it just X11 or gamescope at the moment. I dont have a screenshot to work with. Steam OS has KDE and gamescope as DE, but X11 and wayland as the protocol. 2^2 variations * steam client/libinput * application specific configs.

This variations grew to 8 +. As you can imagine the surface can grow exponential
