how to use my external ssd?
My ssd has pre installed games from my laptop and it's formatted as exFAT, which the steam deck recognizes. The issue is i can't add the drive to steam it gives me an error. can someone please walk me through it?
WHAT I WANT-
I want to plug in my external ssd with downloaded games on my deck so i don't have to reinstall or buy more storage. I want a method that doesn't wipe my drive and lets me just plug and play

IIRC, T7 Shield has Windows software that unlocks it (i.e. theft protection). If that is correct, you'll have to see if they have a Linux version of that software.
its optional to have it on

Assuming you don't need the software:

no, its a samsung t7 shield. My steamdeck is able to detect it and how much storage it has. the issue is its not playing the games on the deck cause it doesn't let me add the drive to libray and it says "steam library folder not executable"

Are you playing games on your external SSD?

Reformat the SSD into a Linux native filesystem like ext4, xfs etc. Wine which is the base project for proton have issues with exfat file system. ExFat does not have unix permissions needed for Unix based os to run programs etc.

If you want to resolve issues with exfat, then go in github and post logs. Be wary, progress will be slow. Filesystem is a slow sector within operating systems.
