Like the title says. This is in desktop mode.
You gotta open konsole, enable password, make fs writeable, then reinstall gcc.

I think the command to reinstall gcc is:
sudo pacman -S gcc
maybe it's -Su or -Syu

I think that Valve changed glibc (gnu c runtime library). And reinstalling gcc installs the glibc that pia client is linked against so it will work.

I figured this out a while ago, I just didn't make a thread. Actually someone on redditt thought it up but I can't find the thread.

I think reinstalling gcc fixes a lot of issues. You might not think to do it bc it's already installed but it's Valve's version and not the one other programs are looking for.

If installing gcc doesn't work try reinstalling glibc directly.

This is overly complicated and does not currently work. What actually worked for me was just a standard pia linux install.
