but yeah fortnite won't work on Linux, Tim Sweeney stated that he's not confident enough in the anti-cheat to allow Linux users to play his precious Fortnite, but that he's confident enough to let other developers enable it. Installing Windows to an SD card is easy though, and it will work that way.

Afaik it won't work on SteamOS at this time. I don't play Fortnite so I could be wrong but I haven't seen anything new where they've updated it/EAC to work on SteamOS via Proton.

Fortnite online multiplayer won't work on Linux because Epic blocks it, excusing with anti-cheat won't work reliably.

Move on to Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Apex or something similar which works on Linux ;) .

yeah Epic Games, the maker of EAC doesn't trust their own anti-cheat and play the safe rather than sorry. There's always going to be companies that either believe linux users will bring in more cheaters due to the misconception that there's more cheaters on linux or they flat-out get delusional and believe Linux users are Satan's minions. An example would be Bungie's reason:Tenshi:
many of these devs won't budge on their decisions until Linux holds a considerable market share which will never happen since Microsoft is the only company willing to play dirty and boost their OS numbers by giving computer companies fat stacks of cash to make sure that it's only them in stores

"Taste" is subjective, I like to play Fortnite casually, it's a fun game despite it's community.

The only way to play Fortnite on SD is to stream it via Xbox Game Pass or Nvidia Streaming service. I recommend Xbox Game Pass.

Installing windows is the easiest solution. You'll never be able to play certain games under linux.
