Is Dbrand’s Killswitch safe to use on on Steam Deck?

I want to order the travel kit but i’m confused about the magnetic thing.

From my understanding (through articles), they suspended the shipment because of the magnet issue and people needing to rip it out for the fans to run normal.

Have they fixed and updated this yet? Can I put the cover in without worrying about the fans and the magnets?

The one that actually shipped should have a mechanical attachment, not a magnetic one.

Dbrand released only a few of the cases with the magnetic stand into the wild before being informed of the fan issue, after which they stopped shipping. I have both, having preordered the original. The NEW attachment is mechanical, like Harusp3x mentioned (it's a twist-on clip mechanism), and personally, I like it more - it's significantly more sturdy than the magnetic attachment.

All that said, if you have the original case it's still fine to use, as long as you don't attach the stand, which is what caused the problem. I did exactly this until they shipped out the replacements some months later.
