flatpak mask com.usebottles.bottles
It prompted me for the password, I entered it, & it returns to command line with no message. I then reopen Discover & it's listed as an update right at the top.
How do I remove this update listing?

I have not. I’ve just taken to unselecting it in Discover when updating. It's a PITA needing to be so hypervigilant when updating, lest I break all my existing Bottles, but I’m stuck without a better solution.
I’m not sure it's still an issue. At this point they're on revision 20 or so, so it's possible I could update & not be impacted. But I’ve been reluctant to do that as I have enough projects going & I don't want to add fixing Bottles (again) to the list.
Edit : Took the plunge & updated Bottles. They're on x.21 as of this writing. It works fine with all my existing bottles from x.9, only prompting for a program to run it & defaulting to Bottles. Once I clicked “Always use this program for this” I never saw the prompt again & Bottles, as mentioned, work like they always have (knocks wood).
The only trouble I ran into was that the Mask actually prevented the update. I tried to update a few times before it occurred to me that the Mask might be the problem. Once I removed it, it updated fine. It seems like the Mask doesn’t stop prompting for updates, only prevents them.
I’d love someone with definitive knowledge on Linux to weigh in on this. I’ll also have to ask my SysAdmin friends.
