Steam Deck

Dropped my Steam Deck on a floor and case seems to be skewed a little
Hey everyone. A few weeks ago, I accidentally dropped my Steam deck from about 50 centimeters on a wooden floor. At first glance, it seems okay, but then I found out that the plastic case was a bit opened near the left trigger. I just pushed two parts of the case together with my fingers, and the case pooped it at its place. It seems normal, but when I place the Steam Deck on the table, it wiggles a little. It seems like it's not touching the surface of the table with all the points of the case. It seems like it was skewed a little.
Do you have the same problem?

No I don't have the same problem because I haven't dropped my SteamDeck. It sounds like you might have slightly bent the mid-frame when you dropped it.

Also if your case is pooping you should probably take it to a proctologist :steammocking: 😂 (just kidding around). Hopefully the bent mid-frame doesn't impact its performance for you.

Lmao 😂
Thank you for the response! Heck, it seems like something went wrong with my device after all. No, there is no performance impact for me, but the fact that after one drop something like this happened is not making me more happy.
Don't drop your Deck, guys! Always check if your traveling case is fully closed before picking it up!

Pick up the case by the opening end (as opposed to the hinged end), holding by both the top and bottom, and ALWAYS pick it up that way. If you do that, then every time you pick it up, you're holding the case closed, whether or not it's zippered.

Yeah well mine dropped from about 40cm while WITHIN its case and it still cracked open near the right trigger and I had to snapped it back together. Now I got some creaking when pressing around the right trigger. Yay!

This reminds me that the other day someone in my family (and it wasn't the kids or me) yanked a coffee table out from under my SD causing it to hit the wooden floor.

Amazingly there seems to be no damage and no sign of malfunction but it did get me to wondering if the UEFI firmware has some sort of hardware diagnostic built in or if I should boot a diagnostic "live cd" usb stick and run some checks.

Any recommendations for steam deck hardware diagnostics?
