Control Config for EmuDeck

Hi,

Recently, I have installed emudeck and I am having issues with the controller on NES and GBA games.

How im launching my games:
I launch mGBA or Retroarch from my games tab from the discovery menu
I open a rom file

The controller menu for retroarch says that my controls are bound the way id expect them to be, but when I actually go in game the following issues occur:

The right trackpad acts as the Dpad, and the actual Dpad doesn't function at all.
the menu buttons dont act as start and select, and instead just shut down the game im playing entirely.

Try launching it in Game mode.

You need to add it to steam as non-steam game.

Alright, ill see how to get specific games to appear and then ill try that solution.

I noticed that the B button also closes retroarch as well. Saw somebody complaining about this exact same issue in the google results in a reddit thread but any solution that might be there right now is just hidden because the steamdeck page locked in protest.

Is there any solution to this? I’m trying to play minish cap on emu deck, and I have it added as a steam game and I’m playing in game mode, but pressing b or start closes the game :(((
