What resolution are you trying to set at 120 Hz?
Your "advice" is for someone to change thier perception? Once you have seen 120+ on a big monitor 60 and below is jarring and looks terrible on it.
I don't know what you consider "modern 3d games" but that could literally include super Mario 64
Anything 3d with decent graphics, e.g. CS:GO or Subnautica.
Actually yes. I don't watch the new Lego movies because they are like 30 fps animation. Some people like higher refresh rate. Why does that bother you?
- the usual today’s games are so graphics intensive that the Deck is only able to generate about 30 to 60 fps with good graphics setting.
- I assume most people only jump onto the 120/240 Hz refresh rate train because of advertising.
Of course you can set the screen refresh rate higher, but this doesn‘t help fps but visual perception. Furthermore it increases battery drain.
