Where are the Steam Deck Parts?!
I've been trying to find a Left Daughter Board "Rev B" for a week now. eBay sellers just bait and switch by recommending their shop for repairs and parts sales, the vendor promptly canceling the sale. The few times I've found a seller of refurbished parts they'll sell the singular board for $200+. That is half the price of a new system ( $399.00 ). It's a ridiculous price!
I thought Steam was going to have iFixit sell the parts.
Where's the parts?
According to the Verge last year in May they had a price list.

The reason why I purchased a Steam Deck is because I thought there was going to be a reliable source for all the parts I would need.
I want to fix it myself.

So where's the parts Steam?

Yep. I was asking about the daughter board. I was disappointed about being unable to buy them.

It's beginning to make me regret getting one.

Yea. The bump trigger is the weakest part of the deck. I would contact ifixit to see if they have it.

I couldn't buy it few months ago. I have to make do with a small dead spot after replacing the bumpers. I would send tickets and hopefully realize the problem is large enough to send parts.

At this time, we are unable to offer these parts, as they both require software calibration (typically done at the factory) that is not available to end users at this time. We are working with Valve to offer these products as soon as we are able to, but we are unable to provide an ETA at this time.

I guess next time Valve will make the daughter board less of a pain

https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/13dzu66/steam_deck_revision_compatibility/

While selling parts from my Steam Deck, I quickly realized that not all parts are easily replaceable. The big problem is in particular with daughter boards. Some revisions are not compatible with each other. For example Rev. B and Rev. F/G. They have a different width of the connecting tape and number of pins. (See photos)

You can't replace the board (left or right) with another revision.

This is very bad news for anyone who needs spare parts. Because if parts will be available in the future, there must be at least two versions of the daughterboards. Which will certainly delay the availability of parts.

I haven't found detailed information about it. So, I thought it would be good to identify the revisions and catalog them.

Please share what revisions you have on your Steam Deck in the comments.

I could use a board that the trackpad power connects to. I about ripped off the connector on the board during my shell swap. Went to ifixit and basic screens are all sold out for days now, and really no other parts available. Not sure what the deal is but seems like a bait and switch. We're promised easy reparability and easily accessible parts.

I am on a similar boat where I've been remapping the R4 button as the R1 for a few months waiting for a replacement daughter board to appear. I've also replaced the shell of my deck and have a stripped solder trace so both RMA and soldering a new button aren't options for me (you can DIY solder a Nintendo DS shoulder button afaik).

Agreed. Sadly it's not the only broken promise from Valve...

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous honestly, the main reason I bought this device was because it was supposed to be repairable

OLED deck no longer has this daughter board problem. Valve no longer needs to sell it because they move the button of the board

Man. This deck make me consider buying if I break my current deck.
