Stuck loading user data
Just as the title indicates - my Deck is stuck in an endless loop of loading user data from this profile. It boots up fine, and I can get it to boot into my alt instantly, but it simply refuses to get into my main. At this point, I’ve: wiped my user data, gone through with a full factory reset, changed my battery settings, updated and downgraded my device, and everything else people online have said to try… but nothing’s worked. I simply cannot seem to log into my main with this device, even from desktop mode.

I’d never ran into a single issue with my Deck before, and now I’m stuck with one of the more frustrating device issues I’ve encountered in years. If anyone knows a possible solution, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Edit: after repeatedly rebooting my network, wiping my device, etc - I gave up. Then, just now, a couple days later… signing in like usual finally worked, for whatever reason. So for anyone who deals with this issue in the future, I guess you should maybe just try to wait it out lol

Looking at the things you've already tried, I would probably suggest you to try a different internet connection. First probably just share your mobile internet from the phone, then try some the public Wi-Fi access points or your friends internet at their place - basically, any other internet connection than the one you have at home.

That is if the issue has anything to do with the internet connection (like fetching some data from Valve servers).

I guess my only question would be why I can log into my alt just fine on this connection, but I’m still suddenly locked out of my main? I’d heard of the internet issue, but idk if it applies in this case

Ah! That part I missed from your description. Yes, indeed, in that case internet connection issues can probably be ruled out too.

I have no ideas then, you could probably try to ask Steam support about this. Also you could try to intercept internet traffic from your Steam Deck and compare the requests and responses it sends and gets when logging-in with main and alt, that would certainly help Steam support to locate the issue faster, but if you don't know how to do this, that's a rather non-trivial procedure.

To the first guy - sorry for the late reply! And for both of you: honestly, I just ended up somehow brute forcing it by repeatedly resetting my device. It sucked to have to reinstall everything; but since I only play games that have Steam Cloud on my Deck, and never really bothered to set up emulators or anything, I just had to reinstall my games afterwards. I found no other solution to this problem, after researching it for the better part of an entire work day

Got in contact with steam they messaged back saying it was fixed, loading up my computer and it was still not fixed. It’s been over a week so far and nothing!

The issue seems to fix itself. Have you tried logging into an alt account if you have one?

The issue went away after 1-2 weeks
I ran cmd as administrator and typed sfc / scannow and when I restarted the pc it solved the problem.
