Streaming from Steam Deck - resolution
I tried to stream some not very demanding games from a Steam Deck to my MacBook but I cannot get a higher resolution than 1280x800. Is there any option to configure it? I tried to change resolution limit on host and client but with no luck.

It's mirroring what the source device is actually running. If it's using the Deck's stock screen (i.e. you aren't docked to a monitor), it won't be able to project higher than the screen that's being mirrored. My experience is that you can go lower than the host supported resolution, but not higher.

You can go higher. Open Steam properties for that game & change the resolution there.

I've tried, I can change a game resolution, but the streaming resolution is still the same which is 1280x800.

I think this is the reason, as I checked many other discussions regarding this. Maybe, I could try to use Desktop Mode and add higher (unsupported) resolution there, then it would work. I will try, but it would be great if Valve could add option to stream games with higher resolution than a host.

Have you had any luck resolving this? I'm trying to do the same thing and getting nowhere.
