Steam Deck - Battery Not Capping at 99 percent.
Hey, everyone, I've had my Steam Deck for around 8 months or so now. I've learned a lot about this machine and what it does. I had recently decided to play some Sea of Thieves on it, as usual, but I had it plugged in as I did not want it to drain a lot of battery on me. I had done this with Grounded once and it provided no issues whatsoever. So I'm in the midst of playing Sea of Thieves and I unplug the charger and it says 91%. Not much of an issue I thought. I plug the Steam Deck in and it says full. I plug it out and it says 91% again.

Has anyone had an issue similar to this?
Have I used it on the charger for too long and need it to rest? (Context, I played for about 1 hour.)

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

EDIT: I've also got video footage of what the LED light does when the Steam Deck charger is unplugged and plugged in again. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/efWbWHxws-I

If the Steam Deck is plugged in for a long period of time, the charging logic of the Deck is done in a way that it allows the Deck to discharge an amount to "not" maintain a 100% charge. This is done to increase battery life.

"If your device has been left on the charger for long periods of time, it may report less than 100% charge. This is normal. We allow the battery to slowly discharge after long periods of time under charge to optimize long-term battery health."

Thanks. I'll try to report back in 3 or 4 hours to see if anything has changed.

Mine does the same. I'm mostly on power so when I unplug it varies between 90-93%.

Coming back to this post an about hour later has began to charge again. I guess I learn something new about this device every day. Thank you for the help.

Okaaay, nevermind. So about 2 hours ago I tried to use google chrome on their for like 10 minutes and it's doing it again. Does this happen to you everytime? It's starting to concern me...

Also noted that it will flash to white very occasionally and then go back to the LED light being black.

So the battery doesn't drop too low, it will charge for a minute or so off and on. It works like a car battery maintainer. On initial plug in, it will charge up to 99% and then is slows charging. If you stay plugged it, it will allow the battery to fall between the 90-93% range. To be able to keep it in that range, it has to do some charging at some time. That's the on/off white charging light you see which is the charging programming keeping the charge around 90%.

I did notice that.

So yesterday I let it sleep over night and it did the flashing every now and then. Since this was a slow process I thought, it would have enough time to fully charge up to 99 percent. Come the next morning (now) and I unplug it to still see 92%. I'm honestly flabbergasted at this point and don't know what to do. Is this meant to happen frequently, and is it supposed to happen for a very long period of time, a day even?
