Graphics very dark when Steam Deck is docked
Hi all! Anyone else having graphics issues (degradation) when the Steam Deck is plugged into the Steam Dock and connected to a TV? My game
Got really dark and I could
Not compensate very well with the TV. If I use the same TV with a PC running Steam, the quality of graphics is much better and not very dark. This tells me the issue is not the TV, but the dock. Even running the game directly on Steam Deck seems fine. It is just when docked. Any suggestions to resolve?

Are you sure it's the dock? Are you sure it isn't a display setting within the deck itself? Try with a different dock/hub (if you have access to one) and see if the results are the same.

Are you plugging the Steam Deck into a different port than your PC? For example, say your PC is connected to HDMI 1, are you connecting the Deck to HDMI 2?

If so, it could be that your tv has different settings on this port. This ended up being my issue since I never used my third HDMI port before so the colors and delay had never been configured. Try checking your tv menu's settings while on that port to see if you can make it better.

Set TV HDMI range to full.

Steam Deck doesn't seem to correctly send a signal to the TV to switch its RGB levels from 16-235 to 0-255. I don't have this issue connecting windows systems to the TV. With the steam deck I have to manually tell the TV to use 0-255. I hope valve is able to fix this.

Any chance that valve will fix this? My steam deck is unusable while docked because of this issue and I can't fix it on my tv

I was able to fix this for my set up by enabling "Use Native Color Temperature" in the display settings of the steam deck. This appears to match the color temperature of any external display, and seems to be off by default.
