offline mode is useless
Most of my games won't launch when offline - "downloads are disabled" message pops up and that's it. Even if it worked I can't imagine constantly having to go to settings to enable/disable offline mode. Offline mode should automatically activate when wifi is off or connection is lost. Oh your connection is suddenly lost? have fun trying to enter offline mode now, sucker!

Why do we need two separate toggles to control wifi and offline mode anyway? What is a use case scenario to have one active while other one is off???

This really drags down the console experience - User should not care about offline mode. Games should just work regardless - at least the single player ones and those that don't have arbitrary always online features.

Offline mode is a remnant from the steam desktop client. Just play games offline without using it, it will work better.

well it makes it even more confusing now. I just tried it outside of wifi range and yeah, games work. But I did the same thing yestarday and they didn't. It was why I tried the offline mode in the first place and made the post as a result.

Were you launching games yesterday that you hadn't played on the Deck yet? Just about every Steam sold title requires you to be online for the first launch. After that, if the game supports it, they will launch offline.
