Hotel Wi-Fi, no splash page failed to connect

I’m attempting to connect to Wi-Fi at a Marriott, which I’m familiar with having a splash page where you need to put in your room number and name.

In gaming mode attempting to connect to the Wi-Fi just says connection failed and goes red.

In desktop mode I get a message “Wireless Interface (wlan 0) no secrets we’re provided” and then a follow up message saying unable to connect.

Anyone having the same issue or any new fixes to this issue? I’ve read other posts that are about a year old with the same problem but if something new has come up I’d appreciate the help.

As you have probably already discovered, there was/is an issue with enterprise networks that causes connectivity issues with the steam deck.

Out of curiosity, do you have wifi power management enabled?

The last hotel I connected my Deck to, I did it from Desktop Mode. From the system tray, I connected using the widget and it added a button on the widget that said something like requires login. When I clicked that, it launched my browser to the hotel login screen.

Another hotel didn't work the same, but I was able to connect to the wifi, open a browser and then get the hotel login page to appears. Typically to need to try to open up something like Yahoo.com. I found trying to open Google.com or some other sites don't always trigger the hotel redirect.

I'm at a hotel, but they don't have a login, however I got that "no secrets found" message the first attempt to connect, found it odd and funny, a repeat attempt connected fine though
