Remote Play Direct LAN
Is it possible to remote play my PC to the steam deck using my LAN connection rather than routing it via the internet? I have gigabit internet (realistic speed around 900mbs both up & down), however the performance still is rather limited despite using an ethernet to the dock & my pc. Both of which plugged into the same router, is there a way to force the connection to just be via LAN since that would be way better than routing it via the internet even though its the same router they are both plugged into.

Go to the remote play settings and set "Allow Direct Connection (IP Sharing)." The connection will be mediated through the internet, but the direct connection will remain within your subnet, getting full bandwidth. You won't need 900mbps. I was using using about 10mbps streaming from my PC to my SD.

Sure feels like it, it stutters and all sorts. Despite having 900mbs both ways and a ping of 2 (on speedtest)

well your LAN should be even better than that. You should enable detailed performance overlay for game streaming and see what it shows.

Enable the performance graph and seen which line(s) spike(s).
