After the reimage, did you make sure that the fan controller was set to what it was set to before?
for comparison, in a *very* hot climate my deck idles in the mid 43c +, and when cranked up it will also see high 70s-low80s. If i'm climate controlled it will drop to high 30s and crank to the same 70-80 when pushed hard.
if you are REALLY concerned, check the idle temps on the drives and APU to make sure but it sounds like a software/firmware thing since you have not mentioned lag on the drives or slowdown due to APU heat. (and most importantly it is working as intended on the high end)
It's just i've been talking about this with another user and they've been claiming that they have like 25-30c in menu, so it got me a bit concerned
Kinda weird for me that steam deck basically lies there doing nothing and gets warm without any load
the UI itself is placing a small load on the APU. you can see this if you enable the full overlay and start scrolling through games. the APU clocks will raise and so will the temperature of the system.
Steam support also answered that these temps are normal, so i guess i just gotta do something about my hypochondria lol
