Report a translation problem
1- you need to RMA or need support
2- someone reports it as one of the stolen units
It COULD work out for you though.
While people certainly have had issues, this is not a shoddy product. Probability-wise, you are going to get a fully functioning and awesome deck far more often than one with issues.... but that is through Steam/first parties.
yet im worried...
That said, have you checked Valve's hardware warranty policy? Talks about how it applies to Decks bought third-party ain't new but I, for the life of me, don't remember what it boiled down to. So go check Valve's hardware warranty policy!
A bit more on that in this discussion with a reply from support in post 13...

you know what
imma buy it
Wish me good luck!!!!!
You'll get more mileage out of the deck if you are willing to tinker and learn how to use it instead of just treating it like a console.
Emulation, getting so-called 'unsupported' games to work (protondb is a great resource here) and using Desktop mode for general computer use, can all greatly expand the value of the deck as a device.
Good luck! :)
