How do I stream/cast the games I play on SteamDeck to my PC to record it?
As the title question says, I'd like to cast/stream my SteamDeck's games to my PC. I'd like to Record it even just to throw it on Discord for friends to play along with. But I do not know how aside from buying an expensive Capture Card...

Hello there, you can stream games from the Deck to your PC (or the other way around) using Steam or Moonlight, and capture your gameplay with OBS or other software of your choice.

For Steam games, first go to settings and make sure you got Remote Play enabled (please make sure you also go to advanced host options and select "Change desktop resolution to match streaming client" for a smooth experience). And login with the same account on both devices (PC and Steam Deck). Now, when you select the game you want to stream from your Steam library you will see a dropdown arrow next to the Install / Play button. Click it and select either your Deck or PC, then the button should change to Stream. And that's pretty much it. The game will launch on both devices and you will be able to control it on the Steam Deck and use OBS or any other recording / streaming software to capture / stream your PC monitor for gameplay.

If you have games that are not on Steam i recommend searching for Moonlight streaming software, go to their webpage and look at the tutorial video. The only downside is the SD only acting as a gamepad and not being able to customize your controls or use gyro.

I hope it helps, cheers!

Unfortunately once I tab out on the PC, the picture will always go black, which makes it very upsetting to use. As I then have to restart the whole process...
