Discover app is empty, am I missing a source?
I'm not new to linux, but new to arch and the deck. Just got mine yesterday and having some confusion with the discover app. It seems pretty barren. I did let the system update, it says its on SteamOS 3.4.4, and Discover app 5.26.1

Tried to install firefox from the link on the taskbar, it opens Discover with an error that it cant open the mozilla stream.
All app categories are empty, reporting "Nothing Found", except for application addons and plasma addons.

Under settings, it shows 1 entry as the default source for flatpak, and 3 sources, 1 checked, under firmware updates. Is there an arch source missing here or is the deck intended to only use flatpaks?

I can confirm the problem isnt wifi related. In desktop mode I can ping flatpaks download address fine. Flatpaks status page shows green across the board, so I am confused as to where the problem could be. Deleting Discovers cache didnt fix it.

Ok, the following has worked for people before - the following is currently our go-to thread for Discover issues and solutions: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/ue9hxx/help_i_accidentally_deleted_the_flatpak_source/

A summary from Mr Virtual of the most popular workaround:
- In your, Discover go to settings and delete both flathub and flathub-beta
- click on "add source" and add: https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

Edit: Yup, you need the fix above. That's the exact error message.

Try typing "flatpak update" in the terminal and see if that does anything.

Edit: Just to be clear. The terminal is basically Windows' CMD. You can find it by just searching for it.

If you get an error back after that let us know.

flatpak update
Looking for updates...
Nothing to do.

Launching Discover shows "Unable to load applications. Please verify Internet connectivity."
Which I have done as per my initial post, not only have I verified internet connectivity, but I have specifically verified connectivity to dl.flathub.org

EDIT: found another guide that mentioned doing "flatpak update --appstream" which returns Error updating: Error updating appstream2: No such ref 'appstream2/x86_64' in remote flathub; Error updating appstream: No such ref 'appstream/x86_64' in remote flathub

This implies the issue is on flathubs side, not mine, which I'm skeptical of. Can someone verify they can update and install things from their Discover?

That sorted it, thank you! Desktop side was kinda useless without being able to install anything!
