Steam Cloud is Unable to Sync
Hello! Steam Cloud seems to be broken on my Steam Deck. The banner below the play button for each cloud-supported game reads "out of sync". When I retry the sync, I get an error message that reads "Cloud Error", and the banner reads "unable to sync". Retrying the sync yields the same result. Cloud sync works on multiple different computers on the network, and on those same games. This issue appears to be isolated to the Steam Deck itself. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply! Unfortunately, that did not work.
u either modded deck and something is interferring, an online only game that works but not deck approved wont sync anyway unless some drm/3rd party pc program, reset deck, try from a dock with lan, saying multi pc's work but deck doesnt isnt helping explain enough of the problem, it seems u asking for help cause hacking multi accounts and using steam cloud isnt working on deck

Thank you for the reply! The closest I have come to any sort of hardware mod is adding a tempered glass screen protector. This issue has occurred across verified & playable games. I do not have any online only games installed, although I do have the Master Chief Collection installed, which uses Easy Anti-Cheat. I have uninstalled it to see if that fixes the problem. Do you mean factory reset? I have restarted several times already, and that has not fixed the issue. To elaborate on multiple PCs working on my network, I mean that you could play a session, and attempt a cloud sync on a different computer on the same network and it would be successful. However, if you played that same game on that same network on the Steam Deck, you would get a cloud error. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "Hacking multi accounts"? Thank you again!

Do you recall if something changed between when it was working and when it was not?

Thank you for the reply! I cannot recall any meaningful changes that I made to the Steam Deck in between when it was working and when it was not.

As a test, can you try connecting to your phone as a Hot Spot and see if the syncs still fail?

I did, and it worked! Thank you! I am still confused on how Cloud Sync on the Deck does not work on my main network, even though it works on other devices connected to that network.

Could be an update to your network hardware took place. Do you know if you are connecting 2.4 or 5Ghz?

I do believe I am connecting to a 5 Ghz network.

Still the same issue in 2024. The only way I can remedy this is restarting the deck. I really hope this is fixed soon.

I'm still having this issue as well, it only seems to be happening on certain networks though.

Over a year since this post and it still helped me out. Cheers
My steam account can’t upload saves to the cloud on my 5ghz WiFi band but when I switch it to the 2.4ghz WiFi in my house it works fine. Took me a while to figure out that this was the problem so thought I’d post it.
