Emudeck PCSX2 Slow Motion/Lagging

So I just setup Emudeck the other night, and have been having issues with almost every game I've tried on PCSX2 (only a few). They all seem to have issues with lag. It's almost like the game is running in slow motion, and it shows fps drops from 17. The main menus seem fine but then go into gameplay and it drops. Or sometimes on certain stages like with SSX Tricky first few stages seemed fine then suddenly the issue occured. It's unplayable. Also NBA Street Vol 2 as soon as you leave the menus and the game starts, it drops to like 15 frames and is super slow motion.

I tried disabling SMT with Powertools, and messing with some of the PCSX2 settings. Haven't figured it out. Also no power restrictions are on, and I've tried capping FPS on deck to 60, and also setting it to unrestricted FPS. Did not fix either.

Everything is up to date, and the ROMS are running on built in SSD.
Not sure what to try, it is likely a setting with PCSX2 that I'm missing.

Incase anyone is having the same issue, the same has happened to me and I remembered a few days prior I had set my refresh rate to 40Hz. Once I reset it back to 60Hz the emulator ran fine.

In desktop mode, download the emulator from the official website and add it as a third-party Steam game. Go to game mode and run the emulator in steam deck overlay OFF frame rate limitation and ON set CPU frequency and set it to maximum.
First reset all emulation settings in the emulator to default .
Go to Emulation - System settings EE Cycle Rate 180% (Overclock) (This is not necessary, but it helps to increase fps of the native console in the emulator as if we had a real overclocked console).
Enable Enable Multithreading and Enable Threadpinning checkboxes
Go below and see Frame Pacing (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT).
Maximum Frame Latency select "1 frames" (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ENDED) and you can also try enabling Vsync.
You're doing great! Enjoy your game

I don't know why but when I hit R3 +Start and played in window mode I got a perfect 60 fps at least for NBA Street Vol 2. Tried to do this with NFL Street 3 and it was still getting like 20/25 FPS

Even though I’m on Bazzite using the ROG Ally X, I also had really excruciatingly annoying microstutters. I was starting to think about throwing the towel with PS2 emulation until I stumbled upon here. Your fix is exactly what took the cake here. Holy sh*t. Thank you!

You guys have to download a decky plugin just to get acceptable frame rates on PS2?

Man, emudeck continues to sound more like a bad idea each day.

Just download the emulator itself from Discover and avoid all this third party nonsense. It really requires no effort.

Tried that. Certain games like Transformers still run slower than they should
