Will a usb c extension adapter will be dangerous?
If I have an official valve deck, and a case which prevents the connection, will plugging a usb c adapter and on top of it the usb c cable of the dock itself will be dangerous for the deck itself and to the dock?

isn't it just straight-thru extender? Look at amazon reviews I guess, I never needed to use one of these.
Yeah, I have read before that if you plug like the steam deck charger cord into a extension cord, it needs to really be plugged into the wall or a surge strip, because it needs a lot of power in the extension cord doesn’t have the demand, but I always do I plug that kind of stuff directly into a surge strip to get the most power. Also, I heard that plug in a computer into a extension cord is a Nono because it may charge that you will be limited power to charge the computer. That’s what I’ve heard.

that is only true to very high power devices like heaters or power tools, as a bad quality extender could start melting. though most will have a max average rating written on the case. computers (and especially a 40W charger of the deck) will not pose any problems

ive been using a usb-c extender for the last 6 months with no issue. its rated at 100watts which is well above the 45watt the deck is. its also much thicker

I thought that hubs were bricking the deck because (1) the firmware didn't support them at the time and (2) it had something to do with charging (like if you're not charging through the adapter I think it will be ok).

I've been using a $1.30 usb to usbc adapter that I bought off ebay but I've only used it a few times and it was for like usb drives or external wifi card or something.

But ill be using it to charge as well, let me be clear, I have the official dock, with a case that prevents it from being connected, so im wondering if a small usb c adapter on top of the deck connected to the dock could damage.

Or maybe I should just cut the place that prevents it from being connected?

As long as it is a quality product it should not be an issue
I have made many odd connections work on my deck using all sorts of adapters and dongles

also, this guy

This is what I use, so you have an idea what to look for
