8BitDo Pro 2 Setting?
So, for the purposes of the Deck, which setting is best? The one for Switch, Windows, Android or Mac? I know it's Linux but that's not an option.

:steamhappy: I have an 8bit Do Pro controller and it works great! I use the bottom (south) button to connect to my Steam Deck and the top (north button) to connect to my PC. I also use the left (west button) for my switch and the right (east) button for my iPhone / Apple TV.

No I mean on the backside of the controller, there's a 4-notch toggle with S-A-D-X listed (each corresponding to the console I listed above). I just don't know which is best for the Deck. I'm guessing either Windows or Android. But I had trouble getting Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance to work with them on Deck, so I returned the game. Now I'm wondering if I should have been using the different setting on the controller.

Ah, I get you. Manually configuring controls for the 8bitdo or any external controller can be a pain in the butt. Some games are just more finicky than others for some reason.

with the 8bitdo controller your best bet is to set it to xinput if it's not working as expected. That's the X on the switch. I use the controller in both S (Switch) and X (X-input) mode on my PC, I mostly use S on my windows, but always run the game through steam. Otherwise if I can't use steam or it behaves weirdly I use X mode. I don't have Dark Alliance but it looks like it was updated to use full controller support, and for steam that means it must at least support X-Input.
