Valve and their repair shop refused to fix my steam deck. I would love to know what you guys think am i wrong or are they please comment

OK so this is the story like many of you i waitied a year finally i get the email saying i can buy it and i was soo happy. once i got it i was so happy with it i used it everyday but then i started to notice my temps getting really hot and my game would frezze or crash because of thermal throttle. So iam pretty tech savy i said iam going order some good thermal paste and change it becuase valve said you can and it doesnt void warrtney. So any ways i open the back unscrew the heatsink put new paste but i realize 1 think the barcket on the heatsink was half way broken and i wasnt able to screw the heatsink back on becuse the right side bracket fell off. To make this comment not so long basically i told valve and got an RMA i sent it to united radio and told them my steamdeck isnt broken i would just like to pay for a replacment heatsink and they told me we dont sell parts thats wierd isnt that all they do when they fix someones deck . They told me we can throw it in the trash for you or we will send it back in the same broken way its been. i told valve what happend and noone will help i said i will glady pay for it i looked everywere online not even i fixit has it so am i wrong or is this bad customr serivce.

you should never admitted to trying to work on it as it gives them a reason to refuse repair. always act dumb af when it comes to RMA's.

i offered to pay for any repairs done to my deck and they told me its not repairble. Like what? i sent it to the steam deck repair shop i told them nothing is wrong with mine everything works but iam missing the heatsink if they just cared a little more about helping the customr instead of saying we can send it back in the same broke state or we can throw it in the trash. Can you imgiane the anger you or anyone would feel

Do I at least get a new warranty. At least on whatever parts were serviced/ if the issue come back. Like I said I’ve seen multiple people RMA and have the problem occur again. I would hate to pay to get it fixed just to have to problem persist.

Buy a "for parts" one on ebay and use the parts out of it to fix your own. And next time be gentler when removing the screws so you don't break the next one too.

You said Valve issued an RMA. Did United Radio not want to fix the heat sync?
