Important! SD CARD USERS SteamOS 3.4
Important! SD CARD USERS:

SteamOS 3.4 has just released to stable by Valve. After you install it - they have changed the path for the SD Card mount.

This means - for example /run/media/mmcblk0p1 will become /run/media/deck/mmcblk0p1 which breaks the path to games and any nonsteam games you may have added to your library from the SD card.

For Emudeck related things you'll want to rerun the emudeck install. It should detect the new mount path. run through the install, and make sure to let it update configs (unless you want to update the new paths manually in all the emulator configs).

You'll need to rescan with Steam Rom Manager again afterwards to update all the links in your library.

Just to make this less Emudeck focused - I want to clarify that all of my direct Steam installs (~500 GB games) are all broken due to the path change. It was actually ../deck/long-string-of-characters and not the old name. Please produce a fix, Valve!

That sounds a bit silly . . . what benefit does adding /deck/ to the path add?

yeah they need to revert the path back changing them all is gonna be hassle for most people and im assuming i have to symlink my other files back to internal storage... sigh who thought this was a good change?

My path got completely changed to \run\media\deck\(guid-number) making it kinda impossible to use, tons of manually added stuff to steam also no longer work without redoing and so on, kinda frustrating specially with this absurb extra long path name.

Judging from this, I'm assuming they are trying to fix it up properly so it doesn't ♥♥♥♥ everything up like it did today.

A reply to @LutrisGaming suggests they will give it more thought, and will likely err on the side of not breaking things again.

I had to dig through the replies a bit to find more information - It sounds like they are trying to unify the way things are mounted between Desktop mode and Game mode.

Tbh this should have been put on beta for testing, not fast tracked onto stable.
