Turn off display on desktop mode?

I'm the only one experiencing this problem?
In desktop mode, charging or not, i can't turn the display off.
I changed the Power button event handling to "turn off screen", but when i click It the screen goes off and turn It on immediately.
Some workaround? I Just want to downloads with the screen off.

you have to hit apply to make it apply ?.. on desktop mode click on the battery icon then the settings, or go to power management and then energy saving ... on the tab that is "on battery" set dim screen to 1 min and screen energy saving after a few mins, or disable or whatever... for button even handling set when lid is closed to turn off screen and when button pressed "turn off screen" ... anything else like suspend session should be disabled.. low battery you want to leave it really... or not hehe.


ugh.. *edit* hahha.. forgot my own deck does not actually do anything besides flash the screen off and it comes back on if I set it to that.. emm.. sorry... no idea, bleh... disable everything and set it to 1 min screen off at least, it was working, what I have had mine set to, just screen off and no sleepy bye bye

yeah, it is not handling the power button toggles on mine either... it was when I mentioned it but just flicking off and on... heh.. just seting it to 1min sleep still works tho and leaves your deck awake if needed like d/ling a file or whatever

is silly, hehehe, but the os I guess is meant for laptops, hence the "lid closed" option also, maybe they cancel eachother out, who knows.. jeje

So at least i'm not the only one, i find It strange that none is noticing this (small) problem.
Today i'll try to thinker with the options, but i'm pretty sure that mine never turn off screen, even on 1 Min setting (at least in charging mode).

emm, no update :) ... but hahahahhaha... lol... is just a mistake by engineers or so :) .... and hahaha, have to get used to decks swiching off in midle of game etc :)

Not the best solution and I can't say it will work for you, however I managed to turn the Deck screen of while in desktop mode. I set the the power button to turn the screen off while on AC but I had to rapidly press the power button 3 times for it to work. I had to press it as fast as I could. If I only did it twice, the screen would be off for 5 seconds. Press it 4 times and it will only flash off like before.

Your on the right track with the power button option, now press it 3 times as fast as you can.

This is very late but this thread is still one of the top results, i just fixed it by setting button press to sleep instead of turn screen off, i realized after some experimenting that it was only staying off for as long as i held the button.
