Steam Deck Time to Ship UK? UPDATE I finally have it!

Ok. So as soon as I heard the news that the steam deck was available to order without a reservation with only a 1 - 2 week wait from the point of order to delivery. I went ahead and ordered mine. I ordered and paid for a 256GB model on Saturday October 8th at around 10pm UK time. My status is currently on packaged items and has been since Monday. I'm not sure if this is correct or if it should have been shipped out by now? Is anyone else in the same position as me?

Also how long does it normally take to get the steam deck once payment was given?

I have messaged support but they were not that helpful and just told me that they checked with the warehouse and that the order was packaged. If this is the case why not ship it out?

I know I'm probably being impatient but I just can't wait.

Update 1 (13th October): It has finally shipped this morning 8am and it is on its way to GLS in the Netherlands. It seems like it will be delivered with parcelforce once in the UK according to tracking info.

Update 2 (16th October 17:10): There is no tracking on my Steam Deck on GLS tracking for over 2 days. The tracking is a bit strange because there is two consecutive scans at 00:28 on October 14th at the exact same time. First one states "The parcel was handed over to GLS." then the second states immediately after that "The parcel has left the parcel center." l am not sure if it is ok for tracking to state the parcel was handed over to GLS and then left the parcel center straight away?

Update 3! 18/10/2022 @12:06pm - I have had a tracking update with parcelforce. It has arrived in the UK with them and my delivery date is Wednesday 19th October. That's tomorrow! It might be a good idea to check your email inboxes!

Update 4 19/10/2022 - The steam deck is in the hands of Royal Mail as they were given it to deliver today by parcelforce. It never arrived despite an email advising me it would arrive today. I'm not happy at all about it. Now the postal system is on strike tomorrow which will now mean I will not get it until Friday 21st October. I'm hoping it hasn't gotten lost or stolen.

Update 5 20/10/22 - So after the fisaco of what was yesterday, after being told by parcelforce that Royal Mail would deliver it on the 19th but never did. Despite of strikes that were being held today with Royal Mail I eventually went down to my local delivery office which was officially closed but I managed to catch someone who was still at the premises at 8am in the morning and pick up the Steam Deck myself. Just goes to show you can't rely on anyone not even Royal Mail/Parcelforce it seems. Anyway, I now have mine a full 12 days after ordering and paying for it. It would of been 11 if it wasnt for Royal Mail's incompetence.

For most people, it can be up to 11 days from when it ships and four days before that. Remember GLS only works on weekdays, so don't count weekends.

Mine was dispatched around 10pm 2 days ago and has sat at in transit after leaving The Netherlands ever since.
Fortunately it's listed as being delivered by ParcelForce as we have had so much trouble with Evri deliveries here.
Not that I expect that to make a difference really though, ParcelForce dont exactly cover themeselves in glory either.

Ordered mine on Friday 11th November. Now a week later and status says "The parcel is on its way to the final parcel centre". Hopefully have it by tomorrow.

ordered mine on 11th November as well parcel force was meant to deliver mine on 17 but came up with some bs that no one was in i was window watching the hole day no parcle force came to mine sayes it out for delivery today to be honest i think its gone missing

Didn't arrive at the weekend but is now "Out for Delivery". Should get it soon :-)

Here is the timeline of mine ordered last week and it came today!

ordered the 64gb steam deck to the uk at
17 Nov, 2022 @ 9:45pm GMT
they packaged the steamdeck on friday the 18th of nov
got a email monday 21 of nov at 10 45 with the tracking

That’s normal. Also, there’s xmas post so everything might take longer. On, and GLS doesn’t work on weekends.

Once it’s handed over to Parcelforce the tracking should get better…in theory.

Ordered Nov 30. Still waiting. Parcel seems to be with GLS in the Netherlands and no status updates. Parcelforce claim it has not entered their system. Tried to contact Steam support, who seem indifferent. Surprised that there is no premium shipping option for a product which is not exactly cheap !

Let’s hope it gets delivered before Christmas next year…

Just a reminder too that ParcelForce will be heavily affected by the UK strikes at Royal Mail on the 14th,15th,23rd and 24th of December.

Gonna be a rough ride if the strikes go ahead.

So evening peeps :) ordered mine on the 2nd 14:30 GMT (UK) proper feel like a child again eager / inpatient to get my new tech. “However mine so far has only completed payment processed “ so tomorrow will only be two days but does feel strange they not even packed yes. Feel like just need to be a bit more patient :)
