Steam Deck Time to Ship UK? UPDATE I finally have it!
Ok. So as soon as I heard the news that the steam deck was available to order without a reservation with only a 1 - 2 week wait from the point of order to delivery. I went ahead and ordered mine. I ordered and paid for a 256GB model on Saturday October 8th at around 10pm UK time. My status is currently on packaged items and has been since Monday. I'm not sure if this is correct or if it should have been shipped out by now? Is anyone else in the same position as me?

Also how long does it normally take to get the steam deck once payment was given?

I have messaged support but they were not that helpful and just told me that they checked with the warehouse and that the order was packaged. If this is the case why not ship it out?

I know I'm probably being impatient but I just can't wait.

Update 1 (13th October): It has finally shipped this morning 8am and it is on its way to GLS in the Netherlands. It seems like it will be delivered with parcelforce once in the UK according to tracking info.

Update 2 (16th October 17:10): There is no tracking on my Steam Deck on GLS tracking for over 2 days. The tracking is a bit strange because there is two consecutive scans at 00:28 on October 14th at the exact same time. First one states "The parcel was handed over to GLS." then the second states immediately after that "The parcel has left the parcel center." l am not sure if it is ok for tracking to state the parcel was handed over to GLS and then left the parcel center straight away?

Update 3! 18/10/2022 @12:06pm - I have had a tracking update with parcelforce. It has arrived in the UK with them and my delivery date is Wednesday 19th October. That's tomorrow! It might be a good idea to check your email inboxes!

Update 4 19/10/2022 - The steam deck is in the hands of Royal Mail as they were given it to deliver today by parcelforce. It never arrived despite an email advising me it would arrive today. I'm not happy at all about it. Now the postal system is on strike tomorrow which will now mean I will not get it until Friday 21st October. I'm hoping it hasn't gotten lost or stolen.

Update 5 20/10/22 - So after the fisaco of what was yesterday, after being told by parcelforce that Royal Mail would deliver it on the 19th but never did. Despite of strikes that were being held today with Royal Mail I eventually went down to my local delivery office which was officially closed but I managed to catch someone who was still at the premises at 8am in the morning and pick up the Steam Deck myself. Just goes to show you can't rely on anyone not even Royal Mail/Parcelforce it seems. Anyway, I now have mine a full 12 days after ordering and paying for it. It would of been 11 if it wasnt for Royal Mail's incompetence.

Hopefully none stolen this time, but the lack of updates is appalling. It’s left the parcel centre five days ago, so where has it been for the last 5 days? Assuming it’s in transit somewhere, surely they should be able to update the tracking somewhere along the line?

I agree. Just to give the customer peace of mind about their expensive purchase it would be nice to have an update after 5 days without hearing anything. Steam support just advised me to let them know on the 25th October if it hasn't arrived. Surely not all of ours could've of been stolen at once? That would make 0 sense. I think GLS are just slacking.

And to think before I ordered I was worried about it being delivered by Evri/Hermes and was relieved when I got a Parcelforce tracking number. Hadn’t reckoned with GLS though 🤣

Started well, with 3 updates on Thursday, but then complete radio silence since 😕

Yeah. Not good at all. I really hope Valve considers shipping these to retailers in the UK and US in the future to make them more easily available rather than having them ship overseas. I would of loved to walk into an Argos or GAME shop and picked one up that way.

I've had my last update on dock delivery from GSL last Wednesday. The deck came with daily updates within a week. This, idk :|

Unfortunately my GLS tracking info hasn't updated yet, sorry I couldn't help.

You have been very helpful instead! This means that gls is having some issue with their tracking system and keeps my hopes very high to get my SD these days!

Keep checking throughout the day. I'm pretty sure yours will update with parcelforce. Got to remember they'll have a ton of these to sort through.

Still waiting as well. This is day 5. Got an update from GLS saying it arrived at GLS parcel centre and left the parcel centre in the exact same minute today.
