Nor does Desktop Mode, unmounting is optional if you want to be certain it won't go wrong.
You can swap them while the Deck is in standby to be certain and the still experimental Preview OS has an added eject button.
Windows is unable to read files from Deck formatted cards, while Android can, due to the EXT4 format.
Not sure why the Deck can not read that card anymore but my best guess is a corrupted partition table.
Assuming the card is corrupted and has not failed, you can recover it with the Deck's Desktop Mode.
1. Power > Switch to Desktop
2. Insert the card in the slot
3. Open "KDE Partition Manager"
4. Select the card in the left bar (important step)
5. Device > New Partition Table > Create New Partition Table
6. Apply
Now you can format the card on whatever device you want to use it with.
Right-click the Start button on taskbar find Disk Management on the menu that pops up, look at the list of drives that's in the window & find the SD-card. Right click the partition & select Delete Volume. Next, right click again & select New Simple Volume. Follow the prompts & when it gets to the page for file system, in the drop down format it to exfat. It should complete the process & be usable in the Deck once again.
